Hair Cutting Tips

Hair Cutting Tips

If you looking for hair cutting techniques and tips then your first going to want to have the basics down first.  Understanding and knowing  your face shape will help determine the best style and cut to complement your facial features. A good  stylist will always take this into consideration before cutting your hair and you should as well. Also your lifestyle, hair texture and hair condition is also a very important factor, before deciding on a style.

Having a great haircut is an excellent way to change an appearance, it can make you feel better or younger. However when someone is getting some hair cutting tips, they need to be sure that the advice your getting will result in having a great haircut.  Whether your having a hairstylist cut your hair or if your cutting it at home, you want the that cut to make you look your best.

The first hair cutting tip is that you need to work with or get advice from  a professional hair stylist. This is key, they need to not only be a good listener, but one that can explain how and why a certain cut or style will complement you.

To save you from any bad hair cutting experience, I have come up with some really simple hair cutting tips. These hair cutting tips will help you when your getting a professional haircut or having the cut done at home.

This hair cutting tips is about having a professional stylist who listens to their clients. They should make you feel comfortable enough to share your likes and dislikes or any apprehensions you may have. I have had clients in the past that were so against a style or cut and it was usually because the person that attempted the cut or style I was suggesting messed it up so badly the first time that the client never got to see how nice it would look on then if it was done correctly in the first place. This is why listening and communication is so key here.

When you considering a haircut, be sure and look through some different magazines or pictures on line. Then just print them out and show them to your stylist. This will help the stylist to have clear picture of what you expect and want .

Another important tip is know the type of hair you have. is it wavy, curly, fine or thick. Do you have a cow lick or a crazy hair pattern.

Another tip is to take in to account your face shape, age, profession. Also your hair color as well your lifestyle.

If your going to cut your hair yourself here is a good guide to follow…

  • Wash and condition before cutting. then will help and make it easier to control while cutting.
  • Always try and  cut off less than what you want the finished length to be.
  • Always cut the hair by pulling it through your comb and fingers (in between your middle and index finger)  This will give you the best control over your hair.
  • Make each cut  one section at a time.
  • Be sure your standing or sit as straight up as possible.
  • When cutting bangs don’t attempt to cut then wet or with tension. This will result in cutting then way to short for your liking.
  • Always use hair cutting scissors. These type of shears can be purchased at you local beauty supply store.
  • Remember, it is always better to cut too little than too much…
