One area people can cut cost is to learn how to cut their own hair. Most men have get their hair cut about once a month. Costing them anywhere between $10.00 to $40.00 bucks. Now with all the different hairstyles for women, haircuts can range from about $25.00 to well into the hundreds of dollars not to mention the cost for products. Most people, Are not professionally trained to cut and are a little unsure how to even go about cutting hair. Let alone their own. But what I am here to share with you is with a little practice and know how, you to can learn how to cut your own hair at home. Once you see how easy it is to master this skill, everyone will think you went out and had your hair professionally done!

The first thing to do is get the correct tools: a pair of hair cutting scissors, a couple of combs, some hair clips, electric clippers, and a spray bottle with water. You need a hand-held mirror, a wall mirror and standing mirror (or two standing mirrors are fine), and preferably, a friend or family member standing by to help you out the first time.

Second, decide on the type of cut you want. The very first time you attempt to cut your own hair, be conservative; don’t go for a difficult, begin by only cutting a inch or less off, you can always cut more off later. If your hair is already pretty short, then just cut very little at first until you get more comfortable with cutting. Go ahead and set up a couple of mirrors at an angle so you can see the back of your head. Look at front back and sides of your hair and pull out a few different strands to see how long they are. Decide how much you want to cut and just cut a little less at first. Practice combing and separating hair just in the reflection of the mirror, where everything will be backward. Sometimes this is confusing at first.

Third, wash your hair and comb it straight. The wetter your hair, the easier it is to cut. It also helps to have some sort of conditioner in the hair so it will be soft and easy to work with. Having your water bottle close by to wet your hair to help control it while your combing and cutting. When your hair starts to dry just give your hair a lite spray.

Fourth, you can begin cutting. start with sectioning your hair into 4 sections. Use your hair clips to keep back any hair that might fall where you are trying to cut. Comb the sections straight out from your head for men’s and layered cuts. Just hold the hair between your index and middle finger. The section of hair you have between your fingers should now look flat as you hold them between your fingers. Go ahead and sliding your fingers down the hair to the ends of the hair until just the amount of hair you want to cut is showing; go ahead and cut across the hair, just above or below your fingers, depending on the direction you hand is. Then comb the section out again and check to make sure the cut is even. Then just move onto the next section and repeat.

Now every so often let the hair down from the clips and check to make sure that sides are even. One way to make sure is to grab pieces of hair from both sides of your head in exactly the same spot, and bring the ends together. If they touch evenly, then you have cut your hair the same length on both sides. If not, you will see how much straightening you need to do.

For men’s hair, using the clippers can be much easier to use then scissors. Attempting to cut multi-layered men’s hair with scissors and an mirror can be done, but you may want to have a little practice first before it can be done well. The principle is the same as longer hair, other then you wont need to section the hair with clips. Keep the hair wet and comb it straight before measuring the layers and deciding how much to cut off. As with longer hair, be conservative to allow for mistakes. If using electric clippers, It is better to cut the hair dry. and the clipper blade can either catch the hair or not cut evenly.

Now with a little practice, you can learn to cut you own hair and save some big money just by cutting your hair at home. Just take your time and check your work as you go. Soon, you will find that friends and neighbors are asking you to cut their hair too!

Cutting hair is fairly simple to do at home once you understand a few basics. This will not only save you money, but make a little on the side as well. Here’s a good how-to guide for doing just that.

Haircuts are a fact of life, and unless you are bald, then you will spend $10 to $20 a month, or more keeping your hair trimmed. The price will be well over $40 plus dollar for a full shampoo, cut and blow-dry. Now if you learn how to cut your family and friends hair you can save that much money for a family treat.

Start with a good professional haircut. Then you will only have to trim it every few weeks to keep it neat and tidy. If you have exceptionally thick hair, you will more than likely need to see a hairstylist about every 6 months for a more complete job.

When you get home from the hairstylist, use a ruler and measure the length of your hair on the crown. Hold the hair straight up against a ruler resting against your scalp. Write the measurement down and keep it in a safe place. Also measure the distance from the back of the neck, and above the ears.

When it becomes time to trim your hair, get the measurements out; mark a fine toothed comb with the length as you measured it when you first got the hair cut. You will be using this as a guide to help keep your original hairstyle trimmed and neat looking.

Use a very sharp pair of scissors, ones that are used only for cutting hair. It will help avoid split ends and painful pulling. Wet your hair, but remember that wet hair will be longer than dry hair, so you will need to add between a 1/4 and a 1/2 inch to the measurements, depending upon the length of your hair.

Start at the crown and pull a length of hair straight up, use the comb to measure and snip of any hair that extends beyond the measurement. Move around the crown following the same procedure. Gradually move down the side of the head, using the measurements taken for the part of the head that you are working on.

Dry your hair as you would normally and check for missed hair, or lengths that don’t blend in well and trim them.

If your hair is curly, make sure when you measure that it is pulled straight as well as when you cut it. Work in a circular pattern around the top of the head. Your hair will grow faster on one side of your head. This is normal, so don’t expect to take the same amount of both sides of your head.

When checking the finished haircut, don’t look to see if it is even from the shoulders, rather check to see if it is the same in relation to your ears, your eyes, and your mouth. Since very few faces are perfectly symmetrical, if your hair is even according to your ears, eyes, and mouth your face will look symmetrical.

Cutting hair is a lot easier then it’s sometimes made out to be. Once you get the basic techniques down. You’ll be well on your way to giving fantastic haircuts.

Like I said cutting hair is really pretty simple and cutting hair at home will save you money. Perhaps even make you some, once you follow these easy and simple steps.

Here I put together a basic hair cutting how to guide

Getting your Haircut is just a fact of life, and unless you are totally bald, then your probably already spending good money to have you and your family’s hair cut. Now once you learn how to cut your family and friends hair you can really start to save some hard earned dollars.

Start with a good pair of hair cutting scissors. This is very important, so to not damage your hair with paper or house hold scissors. Believe me, dull or paper scissors will pull the hair and just cause split ends. You’ll also want to have a brush and comb, spray bottle with water, a couple of hair clips and a good long mirror or two.

When you decide it’s time to cut, go ahead and shampoo and condition the hair. (It’s much easier to work with clean, conditioned hair) Then use a towel to get some of the excess water out. Now using your brush or fine toothed comb to comb the hair out, so that you can begin cutting.

Depend on the style and cut you want, I suggest if this is your first time to just trim a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch off. If your going for a even, single length cut, then this is pretty straight forward. If your wanting to have layers, then you’ll want to work in small sections, starting at the top of the crown (head) and bring that section of hair out at a slight angle using your comb and holding that section between you middle and index fingers. Then only cut about a 1/2 inch at first. After cutting each section let the hair fall, so you can see how the layers are forming.

Take the next section and part of the last section you just cut ( you’ll be using that last section as you guide to cut the correct length of your next section)

I want to repeat: When cutting the layers start at the crown and bring the hair straight up and out at an angle. The more angle you have before cutting the softer the layers will be. Then just work around the head. Starting center back. Then just work around one side and again repeating the same cut on the other side.

Remember to just take your time and make small cuts. Once you begin to see how the hair takes shape. You’ll start to build confidence in your cutting.

Once your cut is finished be sure to check that the lengths are even. The correct way to do this is take the same small sections from each side of the head (Best to start with sections above the ears, towards the top or just where the crown begins to curve and bring the two sections together (depending on the length of your hair) either toward the bridge of the nose and or the chin.

Dry your hair as you would normally and check for missed hair, or lengths that don’t blend in well and trim them.

Which comes with detailed pictures and examples that will walk you through every step of the way.
OK, are you looking for the magic on how to cut your own hair, well here it is. A good instructional lessons and or video(s) and I am sorry to say:

Practice – Practice – Practice.

Cutting hair and being a hairstylist is one thing. Anyone can be that, but to take it to another level and be a Great and professional hairstylist. Well hopefully your cuts and clients will attest to that. One thing that worked for me was to learn from someone that was already not only cutting hair, but creating great cuts and styles. Anyone can cut hair, but not everyone can do it well. The one that can, have taken the time to education themselves. I’m not saying it’s hard because it’s not. It just takes some work. If your willing to invest some time into yourself. Then half the battle is won.

If you are interested in learning how to cut your hair then take this to heart. Begin by educating yourself. Read – Watch – AND start cutting. Just think of learning how to cut hair, like building a house. First you need a good solid foundation. The basics here. Once you have and know the basics of cutting, like face shapes, layering etc. then everything else will just comes together. Like building the house. Once the foundation is laid, you can add on, remodel and improve the look.

If you going to have a go at cutting your hair. Then just keep it simple at first. Single or one length (easy on the layering) cuts. Have a good pair of professional hair scissors and wet hair (unless your just cutting bangs or a fringe. Then you’ll want to cut the hair dry. This is to avoid cutting to much and the hair springing back on you.) to start with. The just work in small sections, starting for one side of the head and working your way around. This will help you from cutting the same section twice.

The fact is there are all kinds of hair styles that can be cut at home. Once you learn to cut your own hair there is no limit to what can be done and it really is a lot of fun. If you can’t take pay $40 $50 $60 a cut, then this is you ticket and believe me there’s a lot of people stopping by the house not the salon to get a great cut at a great price.

If you looking for hair cutting techniques and tips then your first going to want to have the basics down first. Understanding and knowing your face shape will help determine the best style and cut to complement your facial features. A good stylist will always take this into consideration before cutting your hair and you should as well. Also your lifestyle, hair texture and hair condition is also a very important factor, before deciding on a style.

Having a great haircut is an excellent way to change an appearance, it can make you feel better or younger. However when someone is getting some hair cutting tips, they need to be sure that the advice your getting will result in having a great haircut. Whether your having a hairstylist cut your hair or if your cutting it at home, you want the that cut to make you look your best.

The first hair cutting tip is that you need to work with or get advice from a professional hair stylist. This is key, they need to not only be a good listener, but one that can explain how and why a certain cut or style will complement you.

To save you from any bad hair cutting experience, I have come up with some really simple hair cutting tips. These hair cutting tips will help you when your getting a professional haircut or having the cut done at home.

This hair cutting tips is about having a professional stylist who listens to their clients. They should make you feel comfortable enough to share your likes and dislikes or any apprehensions you may have. I have had clients in the past that were so against a style or cut and it was usually because the person that attempted the cut or style I was suggesting messed it up so badly the first time that the client never got to see how nice it would look on then if it was done correctly in the first place. This is why listening and communication is so key here.

When you considering a haircut, be sure and look through some different magazines or pictures on line. Then just print them out and show them to your stylist. This will help the stylist to have clear picture of what you expect and want .

Another important tip is know the type of hair you have. is it wavy, curly, fine or thick. Do you have a cow lick or a crazy hair pattern.

Another tip is to take in to account your face shape, age, profession. Also your hair color as well your lifestyle.

If your going to cut your hair yourself here is a good guide to follow…

Wash and condition before cutting. then will help and make it easier to control while cutting.

Always try and cut off less than what you want the finished length to be.

Always cut the hair by pulling it through your comb and fingers (in between your middle and index finger) This will give you the best control over your hair.

Make each cut one section at a time.

Be sure your standing or sit as straight up as possible.

When cutting bangs don’t attempt to cut then wet or with tension. This will result in cutting then way to short for your liking.

Always use hair cutting scissors. These type of shears can be purchased at you local beauty supply store.

Remember, it is always better to cut too little than too much…

When it come to different hair styles or cuts. Most women are usually searching for a new style or one they may have just seen on someone. Now are there some sort of guidelines to use when looking to choose a particular hairstyle? The short answer is yes, so here are a few good tips when it comes to choosing a hairstyle for yourself.

The very first thing I suggest you do is to be real and honest with yourself. Meaning you’ll want to accentuate your best features, this will not only make you look and feel better, but it will attract the eye away for your least favorite features. For example if you have a high or long forehead bangs will accentuate the style. Another is if your short, having long hair came make you look even shorter. So just be realistic when it comes to deciding on a new hair styles and cuts.

Your face shape plays a huge part in your hair style as well! Meaning a Hairstyle for lets say a rounder shape face, you would not want to many layers around the cheek and jaw area. You would perhaps be better off going with a longer style around the low neck and shoulder area. This style will minimize the width of your face. For longer faces, the hair can be cut shorter with bangs and have the hair blow-ed dried outward. Which will give your face a wider appearance.

When searching for a great hairstyle, here is some of the best advice I can give you. It is to look at some different hairstyles either on line or in magazines. Celebrity hairstyles are great too. Then narrow your search down to just a few pictures of women that have similar face shapes and features as yourself. Your face shape does play a part in deciding on a hairstyle and cut.

Having a great cut and hair styles that match your facial features is half the battle of finding a look that will suit you. Then once you learn and understand some of these techniques and tips, it will ensure a perfect finish. The trick here is knowing what style and haircut will compliment your face shape and personality, in order to achieve a desired results.

If you are not sure what your face shape is. Then one of easiest way to find out is to just move your hair back away from your face. Standing in front of a mirror and then just trace the on line of your face on the mirror with lipstick. Which ever shape this closest resembles is the categories your face shape falls under.

Here are the some Hair Cuts that work best for which ever face shape you have.

A square face shape usually has an broad forehead and square jawline. longer layers, work best with soft waves or curls, This creates a nice softness that detracts from the hard lines of a squared shaped face. Having a side part combed away from the face works well too.

Hair Cut For Round Face

On rounder shaped faces a short fringe will lengthen the face. Also long layers coming into the cheek and jaw area will give this a thinner look.

Hair Cut For oval Face

The oval face tend to have cheekbones that taper down into a small or pointed, chin, and a narrower forehead. This is considered by most professional stylist to be the perfect face shape. If your face is oval in shape the you can get away with just about any hairstyle you choose.

Hair Cut For long Face

Having an long face is characterized by a high forehead and long chin, and what is usually needed is the illusion of width. Soft short layers work well for this shape, or even going with a bob cut.
